Crete is the most southerly of the Greek islands. On its northern shores is the Cretan Sea (Kritiko Pelagos) and below it, on the map, the Libyan Sea (Liviko Pelagos). Crete is by far the largest of the Greek islands, both in terms of physical size and population.
