Greek Island Holidays - Flight, Hotel and Holiday Mykonos

Welcome to Mykonos in the Cyclades group of Greek Islands. Mykonos attracts many visitors each year who want to experience its fun and vibrant nightlife. The island is relatively barren but has some pleasant beaches. It provides a good place from which to visit the island of Delos.

To get to Mykonos is not difficult; around 5 flights a day leave from Athens for the island. There is also a daily ferry service from Piraeus (Athens) which takes 6 hours plus others from various other ports. There are also a number of catamaran and hydrofoil services to and from the island. The trip to Delos is less than 30 minutes and they leave frequently during the mornings, returning in the afternoons.

The islands capital, Mykonos, is a bustling, busy, confusing, charming jumble of streets and buildings. Five Museums are to be found in the town, including the archaeological museum, the Aegean Maritime Museum and the Folklore Museum. Of the many churches on the island the Panagia Paraportiani is the most beautiful and well known. Beaches are popular and sometimes crowded; one, Agios Ioannis, is where the film, Shirley Valentine was filmed. The only inland village is that of Ano Mera.
